What Inspired Us

  • Combat Discrimination evolved from lived experiences. A strong and passionate commitment to combat discrimination is driven by a landmark victory racial discrimination victory in London Employment Tribunals in 2021 and knowledge of the suffering of others seen since then. 

Why this matters

Discrimination can destroy careers; ambitions and mental and physical health. It has a corrosive socioeconomic impact, with a harmful and costly effect on society. Discrimination is becoming more prevalent and complex in nature and increasingly challenging to tackle. It carries significant reputational risks; reduces organizational and individual potential.

  • KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT: Changing the narrative and social norms around discrimination through research; evidence and information sharing, including lived experiences.
  • OUTREACH AND CONFIDENCE BUILDING: Supporting leaders and managers to develop more effective anti-discriminatory strategic and policy responses to reduce incidents, including how to strengthen governance, oversight; accountability and communication within policies and procedures and improve monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure impact.

  • EMPOWERMENT: empowering victims to break the silence and move from talk to action by providing confidential personalised advice and support on how to respond to discrimination, so that victims are better able to raise concerns and employers better able to respond.
  • FAIRER FUTURES.. PURSUING GENERATIONAL CHANGE: Supporting schools and universities to develop and teach anti-discriminatory practices and behaviours, building on positive changes to the national curriculum and valuing and using positive ideas generated by children and youth.
